Mdr 7,7-11
Dlatego się modliłem i dano mi
zrozumienie, przyzywałem, i przyszedł na mnie duch Mądrości. Przeniosłem ją nad
berła i trony i w porównaniu z nią za nic miałem bogactwa. Nie porównałem z nią
drogich kamieni, bo wszystko złoto wobec niej jest garścią piasku, a srebro
przy niej ma wartość błota. Umiłowałem ją nad zdrowie i piękność i wolałem mieć
ją aniżeli światło, bo nie zna snu blask od niej bijący. A przyszły mi wraz z
nią wszystkie dobra i niezliczone bogactwa w jej ręku.
Hbr 4,12-13
Żywe, bowiem jest słowo Boże,
skuteczne i ostrzejsze niż wszelki miecz obosieczny, przenikające aż do
rozdzielenia duszy i ducha, stawów i szpiku, zdolne osądzić pragnienia i myśli
serca. Nie ma stworzenia, które by było przed Nim niewidzialne, przeciwnie,
wszystko odkryte i odsłonięte jest przed oczami Tego, któremu musimy zdać
rachunek.
Mk 10,17-30
Gdy wybierał się w drogę, przybiegł
pewien człowiek i upadłszy przed Nim na kolana, pytał Go: Nauczycielu dobry, co
mam czynić, aby osiągnąć życie wieczne? Jezus mu rzekł: Czemu nazywasz Mnie
dobrym? Nikt nie jest dobry, tylko sam Bóg. Znasz przykazania: Nie zabijaj, nie
cudzołóż, nie kradnij, nie zeznawaj fałszywie, nie oszukuj, czcij swego ojca i
matkę. On Mu rzekł: Nauczycielu, wszystkiego tego przestrzegałem od mojej
młodości. Wtedy Jezus spojrzał z miłością na niego i rzekł mu: Jednego ci
brakuje. Idź, sprzedaj wszystko, co masz, i rozdaj ubogim, a będziesz miał
skarb w niebie. Potem przyjdź i chodź za Mną. Lecz on spochmurniał na te słowa
i odszedł zasmucony, miał bowiem wiele posiadłości. Wówczas Jezus spojrzał
wokoło i rzekł do swoich uczniów: Jak trudno jest bogatym wejść do królestwa
Bożego. Uczniowie zdumieli się na Jego słowa, lecz Jezus powtórnie rzekł im:
Dzieci, jakże trudno wejść do królestwa Bożego „tym, którzy w dostatkach
pokładają ufność”. Łatwiej jest wielbłądowi przejść przez ucho igielne, niż
bogatemu wejść do królestwa Bożego. A oni tym bardziej się dziwili i mówili
między sobą: Któż więc może się zbawić? Jezus spojrzał na nich i rzekł: U ludzi
to niemożliwe, ale nie u Boga; bo u Boga wszystko jest możliwe. Wtedy Piotr
zaczął mówić do Niego: Oto my opuściliśmy wszystko i poszliśmy za Tobą. Jezus
odpowiedział: Zaprawdę, powiadam wam: Nikt nie opuszcza domu, braci, sióstr,
matki, ojca, dzieci i pól z powodu Mnie i z powodu Ewangelii, żeby nie otrzymał
stokroć więcej teraz, w tym czasie, domów, braci, sióstr, matek, dzieci i pól,
wśród prześladowań, a życia wiecznego w czasie przyszłym.

Zarzynam
swoje życie, urabiam się po łokcie, dałem się wciągnąć w cały ten młyn,
nakręcany maszyną, której na imię sukces. Mam już wszystko, albo prawie wszystko...
i oczywiście przyklejony do ust fałszywy i nieszczery uśmieszek, człowieka
sukcesu. Wmówiłem sobie, że to wszystko daje mi szczęście, że dzięki temu, i
temu i jeszcze temu będę szczęśliwy. A jeśli nie jestem to sprawiam wrażenie,
wmawiam sobie. Pokazuję innym jak bardzo dobrze mi się powodzi, chełpię się
swoim bogactwem i dobrobytem, kłuję oczy innych moją zamożnością, za którą
przecież zapłaciłem zdrowiem, wysiłkiem, spokojem sumienia... I am happy!!!
Człowieku
pozornego sukcesu, człowieku nieszczerego i udawanego uśmieszku... Czy naprawdę
jesteś szczęśliwy? Czy naprawdę masz już wszystko? Czy rzeczywiście osiągnąłeś
sukces? A może się tylko łudzisz i okłamujesz zarówno siebie, jak i Twoich
przyjaciół, sąsiadów, rodzinę i znajomych. A może tylko ze wstydu nie chcesz
się przyznać, że Twoje życie -tak naprawdę- jest absurdalnie puste!? A może
trzeba Ci usłyszeć słowa wypowiedziane przez Jezusa do bogatego młodzieńca:
"Sprzedaj wszystko co masz, pozbądź się całego tego zbędnego
balastu, rozdaj to ubogim, niech się cieszą chwilowym szczęściem, Ty chodź za
mną i nie licz za bardzo na zdobyte przez ciebie bogactwa. Wszystko to śmieci i
nic z tego nie weźmiesz ze sobą. Nie tego potrzebujesz i nie za tym tęsknisz!
Nie szukaj i nie zabijaj się dla czegoś co ulegnie zniszczeniu."
Coś,
co wydaje się być absurdem w ludzkich oczach, niekoniecznie jest nim naprawdę.
Bogatszym
staje się nie ten, kto zbiera, ale ten, kto rozdaje...
Szczęśliwym
nie ten, kto szuka szczęścia, ale ten, kto próbuje innych czynić szczęśliwymi...
Zamożnym
nie ten, kto zaspakaja wszystkie swoje zachcianki, ale ten, kto umie je poskramiać...
Po
co ja żyję? Jaki jest cel mojego zabieganego życia? Czy naprawdę, to co uważam
za nieodzowne, jest tak bardzo nieodzowne, że gotów jestem poświęcić dla tego
kolejną noc, kolejne godziny ukradzione rodzinie, kolejnych ludzi zgnojonych
przeze mnie...? Po co ja żyję?

zobacz, że czeka na ciebie stokroć więcej i życie wieczne na dodatek...
28 Sunday in Ordinary Time – B
Mk 10:17-30
As Jesus was setting out on a journey, a man ran up, knelt down before him, and asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
Jesus answered him, "Why do you call me
good?
No one is good but God alone.
You know the commandments:
You shall not kill;
you shall not commit adultery;
you shall not steal;
you shall not bear false witness;
you shall not defraud;
honour your father and your mother."
He replied and said to him, "Teacher, all of these I have observed from my youth."
Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him,
"You are
lacking in one thing. Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor and you will
have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
At that statement his face fell, and he went away sad,
for he had many possessions.
Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for those who have wealth to
enter the kingdom of God!"
The disciples were amazed at his words.
So Jesus again said to them in reply, "Children,
how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to
pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom
of God." They were exceedingly astonished and said among themselves,
"Then who can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "For
human beings it is impossible, but not for God. All things are possible
for God."
Peter began to say to him, "We have given up
everything and followed you." Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there
is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or
children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not
receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and
sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life
in the age to come."

The teaching against our selfish culture
It's interesting:
The question asked by young men: "What
must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus does not answer: "Be
free. Follow your conscience. If you feel good do whatever you wish"
– like some of our contemporary liberalistic theologians.
Jesus' answer is precise and sharp:
"You know the commandments:
you shall not kill;
you shall not commit adultery;
you shall not steal;
you shall not bear false witness;
you shall not defraud;
honour your father and your mother."
We prefer to have the watered, nice and polite
answers. But Jesus answers directly and sharply: Keep commandments! God gave us the commandments as an objective and
reliable point of reference. We shall not dissolve them in the subjective and
relativistic ideologies and politically correct theories. Like to the young
men, He tells me also: "If you would like to inherit eternal life
there is only one way; KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS!!!!"
So, do I realize that unless I keep the God's
commandments I will NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM
OF GOD?
I certainly know the commandments and I don't need to
smooth and flatten them, make them easy and more human. There are the objective
and the most reliable means of entering the eternal life.
But this is not the end of Christ's teaching.
Many or most of us, sitting in the pews are not
killers, adulterers, thieves, chronic liars, sinister schemers of fraud, or
parent abusers. Rather, we are observing the commandments with faithfulness.
Perhaps there are many people in our congregation who might be able to say to
Jesus with the young man from the Gospel – “Teacher, all of these I have observed from my youth”.
Nevertheless, like the young, rich man, Jesus can most likely address each one
of us with the words – "You are lacking one thing … sell what you have, and give to the poor".
And this is the climax of His teaching. This is the
most difficult point of His Gospel, because we –in the individualistic society-
we are convinced that it is my right to
posses, to defend and to multiply my possessions. The whole
world around me is telling me that I am the most important, the most precious
person and my needs, my requirements and desires are on top and should be
satisfied by all means. If there are not satisfied, I am disappointed; I am
upset and even frustrated.
And Jesus in His teaching is going against this
mentality. He says openly: "Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor and you will have treasure
in heaven; then come and follow me."
Very sturdy and very difficult teaching ...
My rights to posses against the teaching of
Christ …
The teaching, which is not at all smooth and nice. The
teaching which openly states: "How
hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!"
Why is it difficult for rich men to enter the Kingdom of
God? Is it the richness a kind of curse? Is richness a sin? Or maybe it is
rather because the richness makes me blind and so I cannot see anymore nor God
neither my neighbour?
"How hard it
is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!"
It is hard not because the
richness as such is a sin but because being rich very often I become blind and
selfish, self-centered …
It's my choice to listen to - or not.
